Taraxacum 88 Suspension 1
Designed by Achille Castiglioni, 1988
Based on the original Taraxacum created in 1960, the Taraxacum 88 reflects the iconic design's 1988 update and includes a mixture of deep incandescent lighting and cool, polished aluminum triangles. Designed by master Achille Castiglioni, Taraxacum 88 (S1 model) decorative hanging light fixture features 20 pressed and polished aluminum equilateral triangles fitted with electrical sockets. The sockets are filled with 60 clear 25-watt globe lamps, invoking the bloom of a dandelion. The suspension fixture provides direct and reflected incandescent light. The finish is transparent. See the video here. Inspiration behind the design: An update on the famous 1960s creation by the Castiglioni brothers, Achille Castiglioni designed this piece for "community areas, lobbies and rooms that need a lot of light for special occasions," without sacrificing style and beauty.
