Invoking the busy, bustling energy of a beehive, the Splügen Braü-a suspended creation by the famed Castiglioni brothers-feels both charming and decidedly powerful. Polished and protected with transparent paint, the spun aluminum honeycomb-like reflector provides clean, direct light. There is a steel ceiling fitting, as well as a vacuum-formed ABS rose with a white gloss finish. Inspiration behind the design: What is more industrious than a beehive? Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni were known for their ability to take everyday objects and re-imagine them with a unique, industrial spin. The brothers and design duo drew their inspiration from a beehive; bustling with energy and remarkably efficient.
