Imagine a stunning display blooming above you: Created by Marcel Wanders, the Skygarden S is just that. A gracefully hanging hemisphere, the pendant lamp makes a powerful impression with its sheer size. However, it is the inner diffuser in white painted cast plaster that steals the show. Standing beneath it, you will see the intricate design that gives this piece its name. The Skygarden's plaster diffuser support is die-cast aluminum alloy. Its upper cable gland and blocking ring nut come in black injection-molded PC (polycarbonate). Shaped adjustment screws are included. The upper and lower silicone shock absorbers are injection-molded and transparent. The lamp-holder and fixing support come in PPS. The diffuser is flashed and blown opal glass. The molded fixing ring nut is die-cast aluminum alloy with alodine plating. The frieze is photo-etched and mechanically drawn AISI 304 steel. The ceiling attachment is molded and galvanized steel ceiling attachment. It has a gray, injection-molded PA6 (Nylon) rose, steel wire, and a FEP/SIL UV-stabilized transparent power cord. The Skygarden S emits diffused light and is available in black, brown, bronze, matte black or white. Diffusers are available in three sizes (models): SKYGARDEN S1: 11.8" x Ø23.6" SKYGARDEN S2: 17.7" x Ø35.4" SKYGARDEN Small: 7.8'' x Ø15.7'' Inspiration behind the design: A house Marcel Wanders once lived in, which featured an old and ornate plaster ceiling that he dubbed his "Skygarden," inspired this artistic piece. Wishing that he could take this "garden on the ceiling" with him when he moved, Wanders created this pendant lamp so that he could do just that-and then share it with the world.
