Designed by Konstantin Grcic in 1999, Mayday is a multipurpose lamp conceived as a functional tool. Its sturdy build, handle and long cable make it highly portable, while a subtle triangular notch in the diffuser even allows it to hang from a nail. In short, anything is possible with Mayday. The name nods to both the distress call and the optimism of spring. A modern icon now made with sustainable materials, it reflects Grcics belief in democratic, purposeful design. Mayday won the Compasso dOro in 2001.
