This modern table lamp features a clear glass cylindrical outer body. A white opal glass diffuser/reflector is inside the cylinder on the top part of the body. The lamp is made from hand-blown glass-there are no metal pieces involved. Offering diffused light, this lamp offers a bonus for its feline fans: Castiglioni included an opening on the bottom that creates a snug, warm space that cats will love to curl up in. Inspiration behind the design: Achille Castiglioni designed the AOY with the clear intention of making full use of the light that usually gets wasted on the stem. His love for cats is clearly visible in this design: the small opening on the bottom provides a warm resting place for our furry friends.
