Flos opens a new showroom in Prague
The new opening is a strategic move designed to give the brand, a leading producer of top of the range residential and professional lighting products, an ever closer knit international distribution network.
The setup project, extending over the building’s ground and first floors, has been designed by Flos to fit in perfectly with the industrial architecture, dating back to the early 20th century, and to showcase the most iconic and distinctive products in all the brand’s lighting collections: Home, Architectural and Outdoor. With its characteristic blend of modernity and history, Holport provides the ideal setting for Flos lighting products and systems, which draw on cutting edge technology and a unique tradition in design to establish a real dialogue with the architecture around them.
The official opening of the new showroom was celebrated on June 23 with an exclusive event attended by over 400 selected guests, including architects, lighting designers, the press, VIPs and opinion leaders. To mark the opening, Flos has also presented a special installation by the Cypriot-born London-based designer Michael Anastassiades, whose projects for Flos include the original and evocative String Lights.
Piero Gandini, Flos CEO, commented: “The opening of our first showroom in Prague makes me very happy. The Czech Republic is a market with huge development potential for Flos, in both the residential and contract sectors, and Prague is a storied city brimming with cultural activity and edgy creativity. I am sure that an enthusiastic and expert team like Konsepti is perfect to promote Flos design here.”
David Řezníček, Konsepti CEO, added: “We feel honoured being addressed by Flos and we are extremely motivated to put all our efforts and experience in promoting the brand and developing exciting and fruitful cooperation with architects, clients and developers. We will be happy to support Flos design to become an important part of Czech interiors.”
