Flos launches Arrangements in Asia and Australia
Following the successful European and U.S. launches, Flos and London-based, Cypriot-born designer Michael Anastassiades are thrilled to introduce the new spectacular collection of modular chandeliers Arrangements to the Asian and Australian markets. The promotional tour will cover five important towns, featuring site-specific lighting installations and inspiring design lectures and conversations with Michael. Starting October 15th at the brand new Flos Shanghai showroom, it will move to Hong Kong, in collaboration with Colourliving, at the beautiful B&B Italia space, then will continue in Melbourne and Sydney in partnership with Euroluce Australia, to be concluded in Tokyo at the Flos Japan space.
As Flos special ‘correspondent’, Michael will also delight Flos’ fans and followers on Facebook and Instagram with documentary visual stories from each of the visited towns across the two continents: places, people, details and purposes, as seen ‘Through the Eyes of Michael’, will be the contents of special Flos stories over a fortnight.
Midway between a light sculpture and an industrial design object, Arrangements is conceived as pure geometric lights that can be combined in elegant multiple compositions as single or connected jewel-like chandeliers, for an unprecedented modular system emitting diffuse light.
A special configurator called ‘Make your Arrangements’ is available on the web site flos.com. Researched and developed by Flos, it is characterized by a user-friendly language which allows users to compose and save their desired combinations in a very simple, intuitive way, starting from each single element, according to their needs or purely their liking.
Michael Anastassiades has been working successfully with Flos since 2013. The light objects he has designed over the years, including String Lights, IC Lights, Copycat and Captain Flint, have won top industry awards and been hugely successful with the international public. The poetic nature of his designs, combined with his skillful use of highly innovative lighting technology solutions, makes every work unique and surprisingly emotional.
