Flos is proud to take part to the 26th edition of Biennale Interieur, the international design exhibition that takes place once every two years in Kortrijk, Belgium, celebrating this year its 50th anniversary since its first opening in 1968. Boasting more than twenty participations at the fair throughout its history, Flos presents once again a great selection of iconic lighting designs and systems, the latest novelties from its Home and Architectural Collections.

As founding and supporting member of the Achille Castiglioni Foundation, Flos is also happy to sponsor two inspiring lectures held by Giovanna Castiglioni at the Kortriijk Expo Forum, on the occasion of her father Achille’s 100th birth anniversary. Giovanna retraces the inspiration and philosophy behind some of the most iconic lamps designed by the Castiglioni brothers for Flos, especially conveying Achille’s irony and genius, which originated many brilliant objects that are still recognized as design icons worldwide.

The Flos stand features an essential space, defined by white walls and cube elements, where the new lighting designs take the stage. The successful lighting system Arrangements by Michael Anastassiades stands out at the entrance with its geometric lighting elements combined in multiple compositions as jewel-like chandeliers. Two interlocking rings form the original shape of Overlap, the suspension lamp created by Michael following the the Cocoon wrapping technique, which belongs to the Flos identity since its origins in the early Sixties. The colorful, pop style table lamp Bellhop by Barber & Osgerby is like a modern-day candle: portable and wireless, Bellhop hosts a micro-USB connector on its base to recharge its battery for a lighting life up to 24hrs. Nendo starts his collaboration with Flos designing Gaku, a wooden frame in black varnished or natural ash hosting a small suspended or wireless lamp rechargeable through induction plates, and various accessories like bowls, vases, a mirror and a bookend, hold in place on the frame by magnets. Italian artist duo Formafantasma, for the first time in a role of industrial designers for Flos, present WireRing, a wall lamp consisting of a custom-made belt-like electric cable and a ring that contains a Led strip. Available in various colours and refined finishes, both elements can be freely combined together, giving a unique touch to any environment.

Zero Track by Flos Architectural is highlighted among the Architectural novelties. A surface installed track with minimum physical size allows the insertion of accent or general lighting fixtures, like the innovative spotlight Atom, designed by Piero Lissoni.
