To-Tie is the first lamp by designer Guglielmo Poletti, who declares himself a proponent of self-explanatory’ design. Reduced to a few essential components, the lamp is held together by pure mechanical tension. There are no screws, no glue, no welding, just a precise relationship between elements. The aluminium bar serves as both handle and light source, while the fabric cable powers the lamp and ties it in place. As the name suggests, the lamp is not built but tied. An elegant demonstration of restraint and tension as design language.
