Design Achille Castiglioni & Pio Manzù

„Pio Manzù hatte die ursprüngliche Idee für Parentesi. Er dachte sich einen festen vertikalen Ausleger und einen zylindrischen Kasten mit einem Schlitz für das Licht aus, der sich auf und ab bewegte: man konnte ihn mit Hilfe einer Schraube anhalten. Ich habe den Ausleger durch ein Metallkabel ersetzt, das, sobald es gebogen ist, Reibung erzeugt und die Lampe in Position hält, ohne dass eine Schraube erforderlich ist.“ Achille Castiglioni.
